Specialist Physiotherapist

Prior to moving to Cardiff in 2021, Mike worked in the NHS, private practice and elite sport in London for over 12 years. This included work for gymnastics, Brentford football club, athletics and British Swimming. Mike has a specialist interest in treating lower limb and endurance sports injuries; particularly those affecting runners, cyclists and triathletes.

Outside of sports Mike has worked in the NHS in a wide variety of specialities including paediatrics and elderly care. He spent 7 years working at the Royal King Edward VII hospital in London rehabilitating patients following surgery and joint replacements.

Mike has completed specialist training in acupuncture, manual therapy and advanced practice; which included a Masters degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Kings College London in 2014.

Before becoming a physiotherapist, Mike completed a degree in Ergonomics in 2004 at Loughborough University. This has helped him understand the complex interaction between the body and its environment. This has been particularly helpful whilst working as a specialist bike fitter.

Mike has a passion for nature and the outdoors. He has worked at multiple events including ultramarathons in the Amazon, the Himalayas and at ‘Race Across America’. He has himself completed multiple endurance events including; ironman 70.3 Majorca, the Lakeland 50 mile ultramarathon, Dragon Ride 300km cycle, Florence Marathon, the ROC triathlon and multiple half marathons and cycle sportives.

In Cardiff Mike now splits his time between private practice, working as a clinical specialist in the NHS and for national sport including the men’s Welsh gymnastics team.
