BSc (Hons) MCSP
Yoga Instructor & Physio
Rachel qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2017 and is currently working towards her MSc at Cardiff University. Rachel is researching the therapeutic benefits of Yoga in Healthcare.
Rachel’s love of yoga came about from a fortunate trip to Thailand where she learnt the taxing practice of Ashtanga Yoga at an intensive 6 week retreat in 2016. Upon returning to University, she set up the Yoga Society at Keele and began to teach students to continue her routine practice she had acquired that summer.
Since then, Rachel completed her 200-hour teacher training with the renowned teacher Laura Gilmore at Bristol City Yoga to be a qualified member of the Yoga Professional Alliance in October 2018. Rachel continues to expand her yoga journey by attending regular courses and classes in Bristol and Cardiff as well as owning a substantial book collection on the history, philosophy and spirituality of yoga, making yoga her way of life as well as physical daily practice.
Rachel has been delighted with the substantial overlaps and complementation of Physiotherapy and Yoga and endeavours to combine the two in her future career with the evidence base gained from her MSc.
With her extensive anatomical knowledge stemming from Physiotherapy and pure love of Yoga, Rachel provides a safe space for those with or without injuries or conditions to practice yoga and become better aligned and connected to your body.
